Glaucoma Clinic
The Glaucoma Department at Himalaya Eye Hospital (HEH), Pokhara, is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness. Equipped with modern diagnostic tools such as OCT, visual field analyzers, and tonometry, the department provides comprehensive glaucoma care, including medical, laser and surgical treatments. The team, led by experienced glaucoma specialists, Prof Dr Indra Man Maharjan and Dr Anil Parajuli focus on early detection and long-term management to prevent vision loss.
Additionally, the department actively engages in community outreach programs, integrating glaucoma screening into free cataract camps to reach underserved populations. Research and training are also key priorities, with ongoing efforts to enhance evidence-based glaucoma care and train the next generation of eye care professionals in Nepal.
