Operation Theater
The Himalaya Eye Hospital's operation theater (OT) is a very sterile space used for a variety of eye procedures. It has vitrectomy units, phacoemulsification devices for cataract surgery and sophisticated surgical microscopes. The OT follows strict infection control protocols, which include managing airflow and sterilizing tools. Cataract surgery, squint correction, corneal transplants, retinal detachment repair and glaucoma surgery are among the frequently done surgeries. Patient safety and the best possible surgical results is ensured by an experienced team of ophthalmologists, ophthalmic assistants, eye health professionals, and other allied health personnel. In order to assist patients to have the greatest visual rehabilitation possible, postoperative care and monitoring are also ascertained.
